Excellent and much needed piece. In Russian we say: у страха глаза велики ("fear has big eyes") -- to the effect that we tend to exaggerate dangers. But Lee shows that the mob is not omnipowerful -- one can fight back the cancellation and not only survive it, but thrive. My own experience, albeit not as dramatic as Lee's, confirms it. I was treated to some "consequence culture" and lost some things (most notably, some friendships), but I gained more than I lost. We need to communicate these experiences, to inspire others to fight!
