Stanovich is correct. If current trends continue, academia will become a niche field for true believers only. As I am outside of the field, I would like to know the true state of play. Has the wave crested? Is it still building? I see no end in sight as the universities rushed to build huge DEI administrations and all those folks are well motivated to keep the cash and institutional power growing.
I do hope this will ultimately be published, and in this form. My only minor qualm is that we don't all fall on a spectrum of left vs right. I disagree with a ton of what is going on in my field, and I don't see myself as a democrat or conservative.
