very well explained. Thanks.

I would add that there is the issue of words meaning different things to different political camps. 'Activist' for example, often can carry positive connotations within contemporary North American progressive circles, although that's saying nothing of its effect on being an academic and academic work.

Whereas 'activist' within contemporary North American centrist - conservative circles carries more negative connotations, unless prefaced by say, 'free speech' or 'pro-life', etc.

The same applies to many important terms here, including political labels themselves like liberal,

conservative, leftist, progressive, etc.)

Does this matter? Am I right to think that analysis of such terms needs to happen, for us to come to a more accurate understanding?

Excellent piece. We have been discussing similar issues for some time, and the detail and research here is just wonderful. Well done, and thanks for writing.

When old white guys, i.e. rich conservatives, stop sending money to woketopia, i.e. universities, a new focus of necessity, and, one closer to reality, will emerge. The need to eat is a great motivator.

‪Yeah, people are becoming waaay to comfortable saying absolutely horrible things about white people. At first it was whatever but it been going on for a while now, and it’s getting old. Cancel culture is a weird one cause it all depends on what the person does. Sometimes cancel culture doesn’t exist, but in the institutions, it definitely does. ‬
