It's modern Maoism. Thank you for standing up to this. I'm a retired sociologist, not totally opposed to Marxism in a social democratic context, but I'm very much opposed to these anti-scientific, anti-democratic racist or sexist mob phenomena.

One of my favorite writers/thinkers from a pretty far left perspective is Freddie DeBoer (socialist of the social democrat stripe and education reformer; also, very strong free speech/inquiry advocate). If you do not follow his Substack, I highly recommend it.
