Not my usual fare, but Jan Brauner (a longtime mutual follow on Twitter) posted this poem written by her then-8 year old daughter (now 47), which she had only recently rediscovered. I thought it was beautiful and also a very edifying break from the strife of everyday life. And when not writing here about so much nonsense, I play tennis in this beautiful nearby park, and go bikeriding in places that are so beautiful that they are like wandering in enchanted forests. Many of the great fantasy novels have a place of special magical beauty protected by a potent magic from the evils threatening to take over that imaginary world. The world is filled with numinous beauty. This poem reminded me of all that.
Doubt this was written by an 8 year old.
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing, Lee.
Very nice indeed. In our crazy times, we tend the focus on the ugly. This poem certainly bought me back to peace.
I loved that when I first saw it. I think I saw it! Jan, I’m sure you’re really proud. You must be. .. Theo
